Objective

Dr. Tomi Bryan, a published author, emotional intelligence expert, and entrepreneur, reached out to the Revenue Institute for a unique situation. Dr. Tomi started her own management consulting firm for Fortune 1000 HR teams. It was built around her proprietary assessments and curriculum for corporate teams to increase their emotional awareness. However, the curriculum and assessments were all administered, scored, and managed manually. She had an amazing, highly profitable business that she could not scale without getting the right technology in place.

Challenge

While Dr. Tomi's consulting firm was doing extremely well, the quotes it received for building a comprehensive learning management solution (LMS) and assessment platform were upwards of $1.5-2M. That didn't make sense to her, so she reached out to the Revenue Institute. She needed a custom-built, complex platform that would provide community access to companies for shared learning and collaboration on their assessment results, a scoring platform for the tests themselves, and a complex, variable monetization model all built into one single platform.

Solution

Instead of building Dr. Tomi's platform from scratch, the team architected a solution based on the Salesforce ecosystem to speed up time-to-value and reduce costs. Using a mix of Sales Cloud and Experience Cloud, the company built custom API's, Apex triggers, and workflows to randomize assessment questions, score each test, administer the results to the right people, and provide a corporate, collaborative environment for each customer. This was done for under $400k, just 20% of what she had been previously quoted. From there, Revenue Institute helped her further by also developing her own certification program for other coaches and consultants that wanted to administer Dr. Tomi's curriculum, enabling her to scale further.
